So I fiiiiiiiiinally got this project shipped over to Darling Bee.
It all started back in Portland right before I moved… (see Porch Dwellers)
sketch and supplies
vintage matchbook cover
fabric for the mic
This was the last commission I took before leaving, and was literally finishing it at the party!
Mic check, 1, 2.
Bee was one of the friends and musicians kind enough to preform for my Golden/Going Away!!!
All that positive energy went into the creation of this piece!!!
Buuuuuuutt…..
…”I think it needs be bigger…”
So I left the mic with Bee,
took the boutonniere with me,
Picked up flowers with Mom at the Dollar Tree,
and took the whole thing across the sea
to Puerto Rico!!!
And made it bigger!!!
I sent pics to Bee before shipping, and asked if there was anything he could recommend before I mailed it…
…Like maybe more feathers?!
– “Always more feathers.”
More feathers, more flowers. Good to go!!!
With the relocation to Puerto Rico, the second move once here, and trying to find a job,
It kinda took me a minute to finish it…
And then there was the fact that I accidentally sent the package to an address in Portland that doesn’t exist…
It was then shipped to the return address, which I had put as my parent’s house in Indiana.
(just in case something happened to it, it wouldn’t have to go all the way back to Puerto Rico…)
Thankfully, they were nice enough to repackage and mail it for me
BACK to his parent’s place in Camby, OR.
*pfew!*
Lil guy was born to be a traveler!!!
Both so glad it made it safely to it’s final destination!!!
“Wah!! Nik! Oh my gawd I love you so much! Thank you so infinitely for this!
I just unwrapped it at my parents’ place!“
